- 4: What is Super Handling All Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) and what does it do for me? SH-AWD is a unique feature of the Acura RL that sets it apart from every other luxury car. Instead of using only the front wheels or real wheels to drive the car, it intelligently uses all wheels. In fact, it actively transfers as much as 70% of the torque to the rear wheels, and up to 100% of that torque to a single rear wheel—this dramatically increases turning precision, and enhances stability, handling, and safety.

Adaptive Cruise Control allows you to set the distance between you and the car in front of you, and let the cruise control maintain that distance. No more cycling in and out of cruise—just sit back, and let the car take care of maintaining a safe distance. Collision Mitigation Braking System will tighten the front seat belts and automatically apply the brakes if an impending collision is detected, increasing your chance of avoiding accidents.
